Studies of the end of the last century showed that most men in their youth learned to suppress their erection in inappropriate situations. Also, volitional control over ejaculation can develop in the process of independent training or under the guidance of specialists. Self-regulation over erection and ejaculation affects the degree of blood supply to the penis and, accordingly, ensures the duration of sexual intercourse.
Autogenic training is one of the methods of inhibition of ejaculation and is used both independently by a man preoccupied with premature ejaculation, and under the guidance of a specialist. In the latter case, it is used in combination with such types of psychotherapeutic effects as individual conversations and functional training.
As a rule, an autogenic training course lasts about 5 weeks. First, a general course is mastered, and then a special one. Each session of the special course includes autogenous immersion, self-regulation of the state before the simulated intercourse (self-persuasion, self-assertion), a representative-plot training simulating a successful sexual intercourse, repeated psychophysiological relaxation, mental and physical activation.
In independent and outpatient workouts 1-2-30 times a week for 20-30 minutes, differentiated for each man “personal” formulas are used, thanks to which the mastered material is fixed. Here, for example, are the self-hypnosis formulas that S. S. Liebig recommended during autologous training (AT) for correcting premature ejaculation in men:
“I am completely calm … Previous failures do not bother me … Excitement grows slowly and gradually … I am distracted effortlessly … It’s still far to the end …”
In case of weak erection, which is due to a short sexual intercourse, the formulas are slightly different:
“I am completely calm, there is no fear of sexual intercourse … Pleasant warmth, pleasant languor spreads throughout the body … the perineal muscles tighten (relax) … the penis grows, becomes heavy and warm … the blood pulsates very often. .. “.
V.V. Andrianov at the stage of mastering a special course offers the following formulas:
“Take a stand for autogenic training. Hands on hips, shoulders down, you are in the mood for a lesson.
By mastering these formulas, alone or under the guidance of a doctor, men learn not only to suppress unpleasant sensations and the negative emotions associated with them, but also evoke the necessary pleasant sensations.
During treatment, a sequential occurrence of sedative (in 5-7 sessions), sedative-activating (at the end of the first – beginning of the second month of the main course of AT), systemic tonic (towards the end of the main course of treatment) effects is noted. The sedative effect was expressed in the reduction of nervousness, improved sleep, a decrease in hypochondriacal and agripnic disorders, and the emergence of a belief in recovery. The sedative-activating effect was manifested by increased physical and mental activity, sometimes accompanied by mild euphoria. The systemic tonic effect was manifested by an improvement in sexual parameters: in addition to increasing the duration of sexual intercourse, libido increased, erections improved, an optimal rhythm of sexual intercourse was established, patients acquired the ability to actively overcome excitement, insecurity, and fear that arose before sexual intercourse.
Applying autologous training in their practice, they argue that the improvement of sexual functions is the result of both a reduction in the leading psychopathological symptoms of neurosis, decompensated psychopathies, and other borderline conditions, as well as the ability to selectively affect libido, erection, and the duration of sexual intercourse acquired at the final stages. The effectiveness of antibodies in treatment reached 46%, and various degrees of improvement occurred in 32% of patients. Unfortunately, it was not possible to find figures characterizing the effectiveness of the treatment of patients with accelerated ejaculation.
